Enchanted Evening at Luna Rosa

I was recently invited by a charming gentleman to Caffe Luna Rosa, where I enjoyed a most enchanted evening. Founded in 1993 by Fran Marincola as a gelateria and paninoteca, In 1997 after renovations it became a full service restaurant. My date arranged for a special table. I arrived a few minutes early and the manager cordially escorted me to my seat. The waitress came over within a couple of minutes and took my cocktail order. I was given a large menu and noticed though I was there for dinner, They also serve breakfast and lunch.

In 2010, several of the employees were made partners, they included Executive Chef Ernesto DeBlasi, Day Chef Marvin Barrera, Day Manager John Gergen and Office Manager Bonnie Beer, Nikola Stijak and Aaron Hallyburton. In business, I found this to be a very good idea. Having excellent, loyal employees rewarded generously is always, not only the right thing to do, but the smart thing to do. As an entrepreneur myself, I learned having the best, and being appreciative and rewarding it, is the shortest road to success.

Headed by a team of Italian chefs, the kitchen at Luna Rosa uses the finest ingredients available to prepare dishes that are exceptionally flavorful. I had salmon, my date had chicken, we cleaned our plates. The service was exceptional. Though there was a great deal of talk and laughter, all around us, we were able to enjoy our dishes while having a wonderful conversation.

The menu consisted of a variety of veal, chicken, and seafood, as well as, homemade pasta selections. I later found out they were voted Restaurant of the Year in both 2014 and 2015 by the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce. They also are number 1 status on Trip Advisor since 2013.

The chefs roast their own coffee beans, bake their own breads, and prepare fresh pasta daily.

They earned Luna Rosa Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year 2003 through 2016. I took advantage of their full bar service and had a nice cocktail generously poured. An Italian trattoria right on Delray’s A1A is marvellous and this one has been loved by many for a long time. The tastes, view of the ocean, as the people walk by and fresh aromas make for a very enchanted evening. Though I have not yet had the opportunity to experience and enjoy breakfast, I have heard it is amazing. I officiate at wedding ceremonies across the way on the beach and I can see how crowded it is all the time. You can find them on 34 South Ocean Boulevard, in Delray Beach and their phone number is 561-274-9404
